Christine Povolish
Head Administrator

Christine Povolish serves as the head administrator. She graduated from Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio with her bachelors and Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership and minor in Curriculum and Instruction. She also received a Master’s Degree in Christian Leadership from Liberty University, located in Lynchburg, Virginia. She has been involved in education, both public and private schools, for 15 years. One of the greatest blessings and honor for Christine is to be able to serve you and your children as they learn for time and eternity. Her prayer for you and your family as you walk with your child(ren) in Christian education is “…that you may be filled with the knowledge of his will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding, so as to walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing to him: bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God;” (Colossians 1:9-10).

William Dambacher
Principal

William Dambacher is the Principal of First Baptist Academy in Universal City, Texas.  He joined the faculty of FBA in the fall of 2021 after retiring from a 30- year career in the United States Air Force and 10 years serving the American Payroll Association as their Director of Operations.  He has spent more than 25 years in various education and leadership roles and locations in the United States, France and Spain.  He is passionate about the development of biblical truths in the lives of students that will inspire them to seek God’s direction as they prepare for their future ministry or profession calling.  Mr. Dambacher holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Occupational Education from Wayland Baptist University and a Master of Arts in Education from TUI University.  He is married to the former Miss Jeanette Ludden of Layton, Utah.  They have two married adult children and three grandchildren. Life Verse: I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.

Carol Cash
Curriculum  Coordinator

Carol Cash serves in the role of Curriculum Coordinator. She graduated from East Texas Baptist University in Marshall, Texas with a B.S. in Elementary Education, with a Reading Specialization. She has been involved in education, both public and private schools, for 24 years. “Every aspect of life should be viewed through a biblical worldview lens. So, the choice to be involved in Kingdom Education was an easy one for me. I love the fact that every single subject can be taught from a biblical perspective and that our students are not just being trained in academics, but how to influence God’s kingdom for eternity.” Her life verse: “But He said to me, ‘My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.’ Therefore, I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.” 2 Corinthians 12:9

Dr. Tina San Roman
Guidance Counselor/Elementary Assistant Principal 

Tina San Roman EdD, CSC currently serves as the Guidance Counselor and Assistant Elementary Principal of First Baptist Academy. Mrs. San Roman has a Master of Science in Social Work degree from the University of Texas at Austin, as well as a Master of Education in Counseling and Development from Lamar University. She earned a Doctorate in Educational Leadership from Liberty University.  She has served in education and child welfare for 30 years and has been with FBA since 2008 as a parent, teacher, counselor and administrative team member. Her passion to serve the Lord led her to a career as a Christian educator in order to help children find their identity and worth through Christ Jesus. The life verse which has led her through many of life’s trials is our school verse: Isaiah 40:31 “but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.”

Debra Winkelmann
Director of Preschool & ELS/SOS

Debra Winkelmann serves as the Director of our Preschool and ELS/SOS (Childcare) Departments. Debra grew up attending school at First Baptist Academy and she returned to teach in 1996. After teaching Preschool for 16 years, Debra moved into the Director role. She holds a Directors Credential in Childcare Management from Texas Childcare Licensing. Debra has always known that God has called her to education and dreamed her entire childhood of growing up and teaching at FBA.  Debra is blessed and honored to serve at FBA and be a part of Kingdom Education.  It is her heart’s desire that every child that enters the doors at FBA comes to know who Jesus is and how much He loves them. Life Verse: “The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning, great is your faithfulness.” Lamentations 3:22-23

Jennifer Graves
Athletic Director

Jennifer Graves graduated from the University of Texas at San Antonio with a B.S. in Physical Education.  Coach Graves was called to serve in Christian education while she was in college. Before coming to FBA in 2001, she coached and taught PE at San Antonio Christian Schools and Alamo City Christian Academy.  She started the athletic program in 2001 with one sport and has grown it to where it is now. FBA teams have won championships at all levels to include three appearances in the state final four and four state championships. Life verse: Galatians 2:20 I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself up for me.
